Hilton Green is a beautiful 7 1/2 acre outdoor education site in Essington, South Staffordshire
The site was acquired in 2015 and has been transformed from a decommissioned sewage works to a beautiful outdoor education site.

With a variety of habitats and wildlife species it is the perfect location for group visits and school trips.
Hilton Green boasts an orchard with over 60 varieties of fruit including apples, pears, plums, damsons, cherries, quince, fig and apricots.
The orchard is surrounded by a wild flower meadow to attract pollinators. This makes the site perfect for South Staffordshire bee keepers association to home some of their bee hives, allowing us to sell our own local honey!
Beyond the orchard you won't miss our massive polytunnel with wheelchair access which is used to run undercover craft courses and events.

As you walk through the site you'll be amazed by our impressive willow beds which we pollard every year and use for our basketry and craft courses.
Our outdoor learning area has a large fire pit and outdoor cooking area which is surrounded by log benches and impressive wooden sculptures, perfect for group gatherings, fire lighting and toasting marshmallows. We also have a large Yurt to cosy up in if the weather is bad.

Further along the woodland walk bursting with native tree species we have a wildlife pond which is great for pond dipping.
Nestled in the large reed bed we have a gorgeous traditional timber cruck building with a working drawbridge!

The site is home to Forest of Mercia CIC who have converted the old derelict sewage works buildings into an office and toilet block for visitors. There is also free parking onsite.
